Summary: Ryan's Birthday is in 2 days, what's a Jon to do?

Part II: Actually Getting to It
-August 29, 2010-
Jon didn't know what happened, how did he let it come to this? He paced around the living room. Jon never before paced, but he thought that this situation called for it. He was wondering how he screwed up so royally that the day before Ryan's birthday, he still didn't have a clue as to what to do or give him.
Ryan was still sleeping in bed, probably tangled in the sheets.
Jon mentally kicked himself when his thoughts strayed to the night before. "No, Thoughts, no more straying. That's what got us into this mess, and that goes for you too," Jon mumbled as he remembered his morning wood when he woke up. "And I mean it this time."
Jon padded back into the room to grab his clothes and he did his best to avoid looking in the direction of the bed. When he successfully made it out without straying, he congratulated himself. This is serious business, he thought, and smiled.
He knew that Ryan would probably wake up around 10:30 am, if left alone to sleep. Jon also knew that he'd probably be grumpy that he didn't wake him, so Jon made brunch for him.
And it was during the making of brunch when Jon had an epiphany. He decided that he would make Ryan his birthday cake, complete with homemade icing. Vanilla icing. Jon smiled. "I'm the best boyfriend to ever exist."
He made it out the door at 10:00 am, and just as he arrived to the grocery store he got a text from Ryan.
'Thnx for breakfast, but eating alone is never fun.'
And before Jon could reply he received another text.
'Shower sex alone is also not as fun if you aren't herrreeeeee. where U@? :C'
Jon sighed, feeling a little pang at seeing the unhappy face. Ryan didn't normally express his feelings verbally, and he found it interesting that when they had started toying around the idea of getting together (AKA flirting) that Ryan was quite expressive in other ways such as in writing. Jon thought it made sense, considering, Ryan had a way with the written word.
He was used to Ryan's written emotions now, and even if Ryan would probably never voice these words, he could picture Ryan saying them. He felt another pang in his chest when he remembered the post-it he saw on the fridge just the other day.
'Jon Walker, you left your mandles outside. Bird pooped on them. I cleaned them for you. You can pay me in xxoxxooxxoooox's and I won't accept anything less. ♥ RR'
Jon smiled at the different pang he felt. He wondered if this was it; was this what love felt like? Feeling different kinds of pangs in your chest along with the flip-floppy feelings you get in your gut? Jon never felt like this with anyone before, and he guessed that if it involved his stomach and his heart--his most important insides--it had to be love.
Jon texted back as he headed into the store.
'sorry, bb, make it up to you? buying you some more cheese in a can and nachos. also, more stuff for the party.'
Ryan replied a few seconds later.
'need some red bulls 4 brendon. and some healthy food stuffs 4 spence. little carrots, i like those. the nicks + andy gonna come over tonight. thnx bb! <3'
Jon pulled out a printed recipe of how to make vanilla frosting and another of how to make a chocolate cake from his pocket, and wondered when he'd be able to make it, and how to make it without him finding out. He figured he'll have to do it tomorrow, the day of his birthday. He hoped he could sneak away during the party and make it at a friends house. With that thought in mind he sent his reply to Ryan.
'So needy.'
Ryan replied back not a second later.
'hahahaha'
